National consumer engagement strategy & campaign
To increase adoption of Personal Health Record use among US population from a chronically low <1% rate by creating a national strategy for targeted consumer engagement
Designed quantitative studies, incorporating behavior & neuroscience methods, to uncover in-real-life behaviors & unconscious beliefs
Used study results to develop messaging themes for testing and deployment
Our emotional themes and behavior insights tested very high with consumers, and are featured in the national communication strategy and campaign. As a result of this success, we have been invited to work with premier national orgs to extend the campaign reach and impact.
Health IT product behavior research & design for Fortune 500 company
To design a behavioral intervention component to the data aggregation and analysis that increases compliance and clinical outcomes associated with a health IT product.
Conducting neuroscience-based market research, big data algorithms, and behavioral product strategy and design, using in-real-life behavior and unconscious emotional themes to differentiate product performance.
Our approach was selected over traditional market research, design, and strategy vendors. This project is in progress. Using our neuroscience-based market research, we have uncovered novel insights from the unconscious of chronic condition patients to use as behavior targets, towards a differentiated and engagement-based product design.
Acupera, a Health IT software series A funded company
To design the behaviors for care coordinator nurses, treating physicians, patients, and caregivers using a communication and workflow software.
Analyzed initial v.1 UX/UI design and user engagement plan, reviewing for neuroscientific and behavioral principles. Designed mock-ups of user flows for patient, family member, nurse, and physician, with incentives designed into each, to improve engagement.
Acupera has won every competitive RFP since this project, and attributes this string of success to our work (Aww, thanks!). Purchasers include hospitals, Medicare/Medicaid programs, public health departments. Buyers are raving about the engagement features and potential for influencing behavior. Acupera already is raising their next round of funding, based on this success.
Caregivers of patients post-hospitalization
To uncover the unconscious heuristics associated with caregiving for a patient post-hospitalization in order to design support for both the patient and family.
Conducted an evidence-based review of the literature and extracted key neuroscience targets to leverage in research design.
Designed and conducted both qualitative and quantitative studies to discover and assess prevalence of unconscious caregiving behaviors.
The findings from these studies transformed the design of the patient program, as well as strategic communications that targeting the HIGH YIELD behavior targets that this research identified. These changes are in progress, and are thus far surpassing expectations.
Some of the results from prior work…
- Conducted large-scale consumer health segmentation research, and caregiver segmentation research, based on behaviors
- Conducted efficacy study of online stress reduction programming, with 97% engagement rates in the intervention and statistically significant decreases in stress
- Developed clinical population health management algorithm that improved patient engagement by 40% and is being patented
- Changed biometric behavior in 99% of 100K employees at a large employer within one benefit year
- Increased employee engagement in health and wellness programming for large employers to 90+% through incentive design
